Zenit cameras: history and models
Zenit is one of the best-known Soviet camera brands. KMZ began producing Zenit SLR cameras in 1952, followed by many models and variants over several decades.
The collection includes Zenit-E, Zenit 11, Zenit 122, Zenit 19 and Zenit Avtomat cameras. Each represents a different stage in the development of Soviet 35 mm SLR design.
The Zenit-E was a particularly successful mass-market model. Later cameras refined metering, ergonomics and automation, while retaining access to a broad range of interchangeable lenses.
